Hey guys! Today I’m partnering with CVS Pharmacy to share some affordable beauty products that I have really been enjoying! I hit up my local CVS Pharmacy and hauled some items to try as well as a few MUA products to review. Here’s a look at the loot:
CVS Pharmacy has been stepping up their game in the health and beauty department. I really enjoy perusing the beauty aisles at CVS because they carry high quality brands such as MUA (Makeup Academy) and Milani that other drugstores don’t carry.
I’ve been trying out these newly released MUA PRO items in particular so I can share my thoughts on them with you! Here is some context on MUA for anyone not familiar with the brand: MUA was developed exclusively for CVS Pharmacy by makeup professionals and beauty experts and they carry premium quality cosmetics and beauty accessories.
I gravitated towards the items I could see myself using everyday such as this PRO Bronzing Palette which is perfect for creating that sun-kissed glow. I have been wearing these on my eyes as well as my face as they are flattering and easy to wear all around.
There are two matte shades, the first being a softer beige tan, and the second having a slightly ruddier and deeper tone. The shimmery copper gold imparts a nice sheen and works well with the other shades to create a dimensional look.
In terms of pigmentation, if using a denser brush – be careful to not over apply as I can see this happening with lighter to fairer skin-tones. The powders aren’t powdery and blend out nicely.
There is also a PRO Contouring Palette and a PRO Highlighting Palette from the new launch.
Being an oily gal, I, of course, also had to try the PRO Mattifying Powder. It’s designed to minimize shine as well as the appearance of pores and fine lines. I have been using it for touch ups midday, and it has a smooth texture and doesn’t look cakey.
This powder will appear white upon first application and will blend out but it is possible to overdo so I would recommend only a light dusting or a gentle press with the encased powder puff if you don’t have an oily complexion like I do
This line also carries a PRO Illuminating Powder.
I have been pairing the powder with this PRO Mattifying Primer underneath my makeup and over my skincare to also help keep the shine away. It is a dimethicone based formula so it also aids in smoother foundation application.
This has a liquidy/silky slippery and lightweight texture upon initial application and then has no shine after it absorbs into the skin.
For those looking for a dewy effect, MUA also carries a PRO Illuminating Primer
I was really happy with what I picked up from CVS and the new MUA PRO line! All of the products ended up exceeding my expectations in terms of quality and ease of use; the affordable price tag is the icing on the cake.
It was challenging but I had so much fun picking my top 10 drugstore beauty products! There will always be something so satisfying about affordable and quality beauty steals ^^ Watch the video to see what made it to my list!

For the second since the face products are geared towards Medium skintone, I thought the blush and lip color would also work great! The last set is for my neutral/nude lovers Have fun and good luck!

I just have a lot of the same items already and i’d much rather someone else have a chance to play with ’em too! <3 I have more to give away but let’s start with these Sigma sets; stay tuned for more items i’m giving away in future posts! Have fun and good luck with the Giveaways
Like my literal title? haha but I still love the way the shots came out. So what’s new? I’ve finally started getting laser hair removal treatment (just my face and underarms for now). I’ve also made it a point to work out almost everyday and eat much healthier this year. It really has had an amazing effect on my mood and energy levels. It’s one of the ways i’m working towards being the best version of myself that I can be How has your year been looking so far?
I’m pretty obsessed with this top and other tops like it. I’m also craving warmer weather at the moment; a warm day in winter is like nature’s gift to my soul.
Truth be told, you won’t too often find me donning a dark lip with a smokey eye but today we’re letting my inner vampiress come out to play. Hmm..something about that either sounds creepy or inappropriate but let’s just roll with it.
I’m excited to have the opportunity to team up with Sephora (umm..freakin’ awesome!) and try out some of Kat Von D’s newer products. I’ve always thought her eye shadows were great quality and that the overall aesthetic of her brand looked really edgy glam and rocker chic. You guys know that I love me some lippies so naturally I was intrigued by her Studded Kiss line. The packaging is definitely eye-catching.
I had the chance to try the shades Lullaby and Motorhead (pictured). This Fall I have totally been loving the deeper and vampy lip shades so Motorhead inspired me to do a Face of the Day. I’ve worn it as a sheer wash on the lips as well as with a barely there eye but today I felt like going bold.
Motorhead is described as a matte black cherry and doesn’t swatch quite as dark as it looks. Initially I didn’t expect as much of a reddish tone to come out of this guy but was pleasantly surprised. I can see why this one is a cult favorite. Keep in mind that for any matte lipstick it is always best to properly exfoliate and moisturize the lips beforehand as application can be a bit more tricky.
I was also able to try out her Monarch palette and I am yet again impressed with the eye shadow quality! This palette has the perfect shades for Fall and are really easy to work with so I of course had to incorporate it into the look as well.
Are you guys a fan of the vampy look? Or are you more likely to reserve it for something like Halloween? Either way never shy away from experimenting and trying something new. Makeup can be fun, expressive, or whatever you want it to be!
