Hey guys! I thought it’d be fun to have my boyfriend guest blog today! Be nice and welcome him
Thanks Christine! Matt here and just taking a break from my world of food to share with you a fun little day out together.
She’s been wanting to go horseback riding for a little while now and I figured what a better way to celebrate our time together than to plan a little horseback ride for two. I ended up finding a trail ride company in this beautiful little progressive village, located about 25 minutes southwest of Atlanta, called Serenbe; it has acres of preserved forests and meadows with miles of nature trails. It was perfect. Made sure Christine was free and locked in our reservation!
Fast forward to the day of our reservation. The weather was super cooperative, there was no traffic on the highway, and Christine was nothing but smiles, excited about this new experience we were about to share together (did I mention this was also my first time on horseback)? After the lengthy drive, we arrive at Serenbe and just as I put the car in park… we get an unfortunate text that the guide fell ill and was unable to take us anymore. Oh no!! I now was having an internal monologue filled with laughter and screams. All the precautions and planning, never did I think the guide would be the missing link. lol.
Anyways, Christine and I aren’t the type to get irate because of something like this. Life happens. We just messaged back to the lady hoping she was alright and that we would reach out later to reschedule. We then just made the most of the scenario and had a mini photo shoot since the weather was awesome, she was looking great in her outfit and I happened to have my camera~
Since our afternoon was now free, we took a private tour of a nearby sheep farm that a friend works at and then headed to Peachtree City (something she’s also been wanting to do) to tour the place via golf cart. The city is extra unique because they have extended / paved side walks that are devoted to golf carts!! It’s so awesome to see cars and golf carts all around. Did I mention they even have golf cart specific parking spots?! Too fun.
Not exactly the day I had planned for Christine but we made the most of it! Hope you guys enjoyed this and have a great weekend!
While jamming out to the pop music that was playing as we waited in line at Atlanta’s new ferris wheel, Skyview Atlanta, I couldn’t help but feel a little giddy. The warmth from the sun balanced out the light chill in the air perfectly and i’m honestly excited for Spring to near.
The color palette of my outfit inspired the eye look and with the slight change in weather it was time to switch it up from my usual neutrals. I am wearing Betrayal and Smokeout from the Urban Decay Vice 2 palette.
The Pantone color of the year 2014 is Radiant Orchid and I can’t really explain why this excites me other than the fact that I am just simply in love with this color. To balance the vividness of the bag I decided to integrate subtle colors such as the pale mint green of my shirt and deep faded berry of my scarf.

Ever since our trip to London over a year ago, Matt and I occasionally reminisce about our first afternoon tea experience. I had loved everything about it; the intimate setting, tasting clotted cream for the first time, and being overwhelmed with the tiered platter of yummy bites along with us each having our own pots of tea.
I was excited when Matt had brought up the idea of doing high tea (what it is commonly known as here in the states) for Valentine’s. He arrived that day to pick me up looking very dapper in his corduroy blazer. ^_^ I loved the location he chose (Dr. Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party in Candler Park) as it was such a quaint, eclectic, and cozy little spot in which we could actually hear each other speak. We ended the night with picking up some amazing spicy samosas from a different location (Royal Sweets in Decatur) and catching up on the season premiere of the Walking Dead. Perfect romantic ending to the evening, no? haha
If you are wondering, we decided to try their Earl Grey tea and it wasn’t as robust and strong in flavor as I prefer but the little bites and the Devonshire cream were all scrumptious. Are you all tea drinkers? What kinds of teas are your favorite?
