Today felt like the day to start posting again. Maybe it’s the solar eclipse. Maybe the solar eclipse is the perfect analogy. Something came over me this past weekend like how the moon came over the sun. I’m alive and well – thank you to those for checking in. I took much needed time off for myself and I really appreciate you all for being patient <3
I heard this song while I drove home this evening and it was just right:
You with the sad eyes
Don’t be discouraged, oh I realize
It’s hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
The darkness inside you
Can make you feel so small
Show me a smile then
Don’t be unhappy
Can’t remember when
I last saw you laughing
This world makes you crazy
And you’ve taken all you can bear
Just, call me up
‘Cause I will always be there
And I see your true colors
I see your true colors
And that’s why I love you
We live in a generation where we get so caught up in perfection and in how we present ourselves. It feels amazing to let loose every now and then and to embrace the imperfection. Even these images are imperfect – they were shot with an iPhone instead of the usual DSLR on a cloudy evening in the French Quarter of New Orleans and edited with Snapseed (I still freakin’ love this app). It feels good to be back, and not just back as in back to posting but to feel like myself again <3
Like my literal title? haha but I still love the way the shots came out. So what’s new? I’ve finally started getting laser hair removal treatment (just my face and underarms for now). I’ve also made it a point to work out almost everyday and eat much healthier this year. It really has had an amazing effect on my mood and energy levels. It’s one of the ways i’m working towards being the best version of myself that I can be How has your year been looking so far?
I’m pretty obsessed with this top and other tops like it. I’m also craving warmer weather at the moment; a warm day in winter is like nature’s gift to my soul.
Hey all! Lou & Grey just recently opened up a storefront in Alpharetta, Georgia and I was excited to have the opportunity to check it out as it has only recently began to further expand as it’s own entity. Some of you may be familiar with the brand as the casual/laid-back collection of LOFT. I thought it was pretty cool to find out that there are currently only a few stand alone stores around the nation.
Upon entering, I totally loved the bright, clean, and earthy aesthetic of the store. The succulents, trinkets, copper tones, and curated independent products such as the jewelry really add that unique touch. It’s the kind of space that feels simplistic and comfortable which can also be said about the clothes.
There is indeed a lot of grey clothing (which I love!) as well as white and a variety of neutral tones. For this Fall and Winter season they’ve incorporated a few more rich tones such as blue, green, and burgundy. They have a ton of basic and casual pieces that are great for lounging around in but are also perfect for that effortless look to wear out. The sizing is very similar to LOFT and I found that size XS was the better fit for me with the tops and jackets and size S for bottoms.
Some of the items that I was naturally drawn to were the jackets with the large lapels such as this one and this one as well as the easy to wear knits that cover the bum such as this grey tunic. Along with the knit tunic, I also took home an olive green button up and a dark charcoal colored pair of thick twill leggings. I probably would have been tempted to walk out with more had there been more items available in my size.
Hey guys I’m back! Thanks for being nice to Matt in the last post. So some of you know that I try not to splurge too often but for more worthy sales like the Nordstrom Anniversary sale it’s hard to not cave! I am still really loving my finds so it was totally worth it. The ShopBop Friends and Family 25% off sale is another great opportunity to score those investment pieces or more luxury items that you’ve been lusting for. Not to mention, the free 3 day shipping and free returns is a major plus!
Clearly you can see that I tend to gravitate towards shoes because who doesn’t love shoes?! I also believe that quality jeans are worth investing in so I spent quite a bit of time lurking around in the denim department. Here are some of my picks/lemmings!
What pieces would you splurge on? ShopBop also has some awesome home decor items that would make great holiday gifts! I had to force myself to resist from going overboard haha oh sales XD Thanks for reading!
Hey guys! I thought it’d be fun to have my boyfriend guest blog today! Be nice and welcome him
Thanks Christine! Matt here and just taking a break from my world of food to share with you a fun little day out together.
She’s been wanting to go horseback riding for a little while now and I figured what a better way to celebrate our time together than to plan a little horseback ride for two. I ended up finding a trail ride company in this beautiful little progressive village, located about 25 minutes southwest of Atlanta, called Serenbe; it has acres of preserved forests and meadows with miles of nature trails. It was perfect. Made sure Christine was free and locked in our reservation!
Fast forward to the day of our reservation. The weather was super cooperative, there was no traffic on the highway, and Christine was nothing but smiles, excited about this new experience we were about to share together (did I mention this was also my first time on horseback)? After the lengthy drive, we arrive at Serenbe and just as I put the car in park… we get an unfortunate text that the guide fell ill and was unable to take us anymore. Oh no!! I now was having an internal monologue filled with laughter and screams. All the precautions and planning, never did I think the guide would be the missing link. lol.
Anyways, Christine and I aren’t the type to get irate because of something like this. Life happens. We just messaged back to the lady hoping she was alright and that we would reach out later to reschedule. We then just made the most of the scenario and had a mini photo shoot since the weather was awesome, she was looking great in her outfit and I happened to have my camera~
Since our afternoon was now free, we took a private tour of a nearby sheep farm that a friend works at and then headed to Peachtree City (something she’s also been wanting to do) to tour the place via golf cart. The city is extra unique because they have extended / paved side walks that are devoted to golf carts!! It’s so awesome to see cars and golf carts all around. Did I mention they even have golf cart specific parking spots?! Too fun.
Not exactly the day I had planned for Christine but we made the most of it! Hope you guys enjoyed this and have a great weekend!
Hi guys! A silhouette I never tire of is a looser fitting top and tight fitted bottoms especially when the bottoms have plenty of stretch to them so that I can eat to my heart’s desire ^_^ mmm food. This is what happens when I work while i’m hungry haha anyways I digress. Doesn’t this bold grid printed top make you think of a city’s grid infrastructure? I just have a thing for cleans lines so deem me a forever stripes and checkered print lover.
