• Adventuring in Greece, Part 2: Is Santorini Worth the Hype?

Truth be told, we almost excluded Santorini from our Greece adventures. We highly considered going to Milos, a smaller and lesser known island. Similar to Santorini, it also has a volcanic landscape and we were attracted to the fact that it would be less of a tourist trap. So..why did we ultimately choose to spend 2 days in Santorini? And what are my very honest thoughts about our experience there? Keep reading to find out!  Our trip first began on the island of Naxos (read part one of our Greece experience here!). We took a high-speed Seajets ferry that I booked through Ferryhopper to make our way over to Santorini.…

  • Adventuring in Greece, Part 1: Naxos

Greece is one of those destinations that has been on my radar way long before we were hit with the pandemic. And even since then, the idea of going on this type of trip felt like a distant dream. A couple of months ago, it hit me that we don’t spend enough time celebrating our accomplishments and milestones. Or to think of it, even overcoming some of the life challenges that we faced in the past year alone. Reaching that moment of wanting to celebrate life was almost euphoric. This trip is only the beginning, and I feel so grateful that my partner Matt (who also photographed all of the…

  • Bridging the Gap of My Asian American Identity

Hi everyone, before we dive into my stream of consciousness, I wanted to take a moment to send my thoughts to the victims of the recent mass shootings and to their family, friends and loved ones as well as to everyone who is grieving right alongside them. Also, thank you to those who reached out to me and Matt during this time. That type of kindness is so rare and I shed a few tears just thinking about it. Thank you. … What’s in a name? As I’ve reflected on the increasing Asian hate crimes that have occurred as of late, I’ve had several thoughts of my own that I’ve…

  • Spring Casual in Denim & White Sneakers

I’m pretty excited to see the sneaker trend still going strong. I pretty much live in them these days – you’ll typically see me donning either a pair of sneaks or black boots. With the weather warming up, I foresee a few other additions in the near future, but for now, I’m really loving the casual sneaker that’s perfect for everyday. In previous vlogs, I was gushing over my new Filas and still love them! I also knew I wanted a more sleek pair of white sneakers to add variety to my wardrobe. These Pumas fit the bill perfectly. They’re comfortable and I love the proportions. Sometimes this style of…

  • Our AirBnB Stay in Columbia, SC and Travel Outfit

Watch video Matt and I like to venture out to lesser known cities from time to time. After deliberating on where to go, we decided on Columbia, South Carolina! It was a relaxed and casual time just as expected. One of the highlights of our trip has to be the AirBnb we stayed at. Check out Part 1 of our trip as we are en route to our destination with a tour of the cottage: I also have a tendency to shop before traveling, anyone else? Preplanning in terms of what I’m going to wear feels like it can set the tone for the trip. It was chilly and cloudy…

  • Apple picking in early fall

Hello October! My favorite season is here yet again. It has been years since I’ve gone apple picking. Matt and I really enjoyed our time at the Hillcrest Orchards in Ellijay, Georgia. Fruit-wise, apples are definitely a staple to have around at all times for us. Same goes for bananas. So far, we’ve made apple chips and apple crumble (à la mode is Matt’s fave!) and have simply snacked on a bunch of them sliced. We have been trying out the different varieties we picked (Rome, Gala, Candy Crisp, Pink Ladies, Golden Delicious, etc) and they really do taste better than what you would find in a store! What is…

  • A chain reaction

I’ve been spending time processing my thoughts and sentiments revolving around the events that have taken place over the past week – it has all been a lot to take in.  Seeing George Floyd pinned down to the ground with a knee to his neck while pleading for his life and ultimately breathing his last breath..how could anyone shake that? It’s traumatic. Is it any wonder our nation has cracked? It’s a shame that it has had to come to this. With history repeating itself again and again, what we’re witnessing now is the breaking point. A pivotal moment for humanity. We will never forget, but do we have it…

  • Finding joy in the now

Photos by Matthew Wong You’ll forgive me for that cheesy photo of me flexing up there, right?  For the past couple of months Matt and I have made an effort to go on (almost) daily walks. So much yes for soaking in some of that sweet vitamin D from the sun and for getting more steps in.  And I have been really fortunate to still be able to work from home with no problems. Now that we’re spending so many hours at home, planning to do something outside of the usual has been a welcomed change. I also anticipate what we’ll do on the weekends. Each weekend has been a…

  • Feeling less than in unusual times

There is a lot of pressure to level up, to become the best version of ourselves, and to do the right thing under any circumstances during this time. It can cause even the most sane person to go into a frenzy.  I’ve been questioning myself a lot – what I can say, how I should feel or should even be allowed to feel, and why my patience has been waning. When you care so much, when you want to bring peace and a sense of calm into what feels like the upside down, you place a level of responsibility on how you need to show up.  This can be mentally…

  • Just start

Note to self..again and again. Though, just starting, or rather taking that very first step, alone really isn’t enough. At least not for me. And that isn’t to say that if you’ve gotten over the fear of finally starting something that’s important to you, I commend you and congratulate you big time. Taking that first step can be pretty magical. But what I’m referring to is the struggle of continuing down the path of what we’ve started. If you could see the amount of Google docs or notebooks I’ve scribbled in where I’ve started brainstorming on topics or ideas with the hopes of eventually revisiting and making something of one…
